Residential rebates are available to Nicor Gas customers for purchases made and installed between May 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011 for the following high efficiency products. Please note: Applications must be postmarked no later than 60 days after purchase, or by June 30, 2011, whichever comes first.

Please Note: Due to the fact that ENERGY STAR will soon be eliminating the 0.62 Energy Factor water heater from its specifications, rebates for the 0.62 Energy Factor product are only available for purchases and installations made through August 31, 2010. Customers will have 60 days from purchase and installation, or by September 30, 2010 to submit applications.
Program Eligibility
All Nicor Gas residential customers are eligible to apply for the Program. Qualifying products must be purchased and installed between May 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011. Products can be installed in either new or existing single-family homes or multi-family dwellings of three units or less.
Landlord Eligibility
Landlords are eligible for Program rebates.
If you are a landlord and the gas account(s) is in your name, please complete and submit the rebate application.
If you are applying for a rebate for a residence you own, but the gas account is in your tenant's name, you must supply the following information:
- Installation address
- Gas account holder's name
- Gas account holder's account number
- Current tax bill or mortgage statement providing proof of ownership
Please note that products can be installed in either new or existing single-family homes or multi-family dwellings of three units or less.

Due to health and safety issues related to the installation of natural gas-saving devices, Nicor Gas strongly encourages customers to use a professional contractor (adhering to manufacturer specifications and local/state codes) to install the qualifying products.
Purchase and Application Submission Information
Products need to be purchased and installed between May 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011.
The offer is valid from May 1, 2010 to May 31, 2011, or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first. All applications must be postmarked no later than 60 days after the purchase, or by June 30, 2011, whichever comes first.

Customers can receive their Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program rebate immediately as an instant discount when they purchase any Program-qualifying product from a participating contractor. Tax Credit Information
Tax credits - at 30% of the cost, up to $1,500 - are currently available for products purchased and installed in existing homes in 2010. For more details, visit: www.energystar.gov/taxcredits.

In addition to the rebate program, Nicor Gas is also offering the following additional resources:
- Low-to-Moderate Income Program: Offers home weatherization and furnace upgrades to customers with household incomes between 200 and 300 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, as identified by Community Action Agencies. Homeowners will incur some portion of the upgrade costs. For more information about this program, please call 877-886-4239.
- Existing Home Retrofit Program: Aims to help select homeowners reduce their natural gas consumption by analyzing their energy use, recommending weatherization measures, and facilitating installation. Participants will receive financial rebates for installing recommended measures. For more information about this program, please call 877-821-9988.
- Elementary Energy Education Program: Helps students and their families understand how to use energy wisely in their home. Educators will receive an energy-efficiency curriculum training and kits to share with families so they can document how the changes they make result in natural gas energy savings. - Residential Multi-Family Direct Install Program: Through a partnership with ComEd, this program helps owners and residents of multi-family buildings learn ways to reduce energy costs through the direct installation of energy-saving measures in individual living units - at no cost to the property owner.
