The New Construction program offers technical assistance and financial incentives to promote energy efficiency through a comprehensive effort to influence building design practices and encourage building owners, architects and engineers to surpass building standards. The objective is to capture efficiency opportunities during the design and construction of new buildings, major renovations of existing buildings and tenant build-outs in the commercial and industrial markets.
Nicor Gas’ new construction service features three approaches to allow participation by customers in various stages of design and with various design features.
- Comprehensive Track: For large projects early in the design process, this track will offer a higher level of technical assistance and consultation on building design and take advantage of whole building modeling and financial incentives.
- Systems Track: Serving smaller projects and projects in the later stages of the design process, this track will target efficiency opportunities in key building system components.
