Other Programs: Elementary Energy Education Program

The Elementary Energy Education Program is designed to teach students and their families how to conserve energy resources by using energy more efficiently at home and at school. THINK! ENERGY with Nicor Gas and ComEd is offered again for the 2012-2013 school year and provides an interactive hands-on presentation with 5th grade students and the distribution of approximately 15,000 Take Action! kits to participating students and teachers. The kit gives each participant’s family the technologies to start making a difference now. Students will be able to document how the changes they make result in natural gas energy savings.

This program is available free of charge to schools that receive natural gas service from Nicor Gas and electricity service from ComEd.  However, the program is not open for public enrollment. Eligible schools will be contacted by the National Energy Foundation to participate.
