Customer Eligibility
All custom projects must be installed at the site of a current Nicor Gas business customer. Public (taxpayer-funded) entities and Direct Access customers are not eligible for the Business Custom Incentive Program.
Program Duration:
The current cycle of the Business Custom Incentive Program is available for projects installed June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2014, or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first.
Pre-approval for each project is required in order to be eligible. Decisions to acquire and install energy efficiency measures must be made on or after June 1, 2011.
Post-installation inspections must be conducted and Final Applications submitted within 30 days of project completion, or by June 30, 2014, whichever comes first. Please note: All custom projects must be fully installed and operational prior to submitting the Final Application.
Project Eligibility:
The Business Custom Incentive Program is offering incentives for energy efficiency projects that involve improvements to existing systems or processes which result in a permanent reduction in natural gas usage. Natural gas savings must be verifiable over a 5-year period. Please note: Ongoing verification is not required, but may be requested by the Program.
Only projects that are not currently covered by the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program’s Business Energy Efficiency Rebate Program offerings are eligible for incentives through the Business Custom Incentive Program.
All projects must be pre-approved by the Program. Any work done prior to receiving a Program-issued Pre-Approval Notice will render your project ineligible for an incentive.
Decisions to acquire and install energy efficiency measures must be made on or after June 1, 2011.

$0.75 / therm saved for projects saving between 2,500 and 7,500 therms per year
