Cash rebates are available to current Nicor Gas residential customers for pipe insulation meeting the following requirements.

Please Note: Pipe insulation must be included on a rebate application with another qualifying product. An application with pipe insulation alone will not be eligible.

Insulation thickness must be 0.75 inches or greater. Fiberglass, foam or calcium silicate insulation types qualify.

Must be added to un-insulated pipes of a natural gas domestic hot water system. Electric and propane water heater pipe systems are not eligible.

Minimum of 6 linear feet must be installed.

Minimum qualifying pipe diameter is 0.75 inches.

Insulation must be installed by a professional contractor according to manufacturer specifications.

New construction is not eligible.

Pipe insulation must be purchased and installed June 1, 2012 - May 31, 2014.

Be signed by the Nicor Gas account holder, or include a Customer Release Form signed by the account holder
General Requirements

Products must be installed according to all applicable building, local and state codes, and manufacturer specifications.

Products must be installed and the equipment operational prior to submittal of a rebate application at the address listed on the application.

Products must be purchased new. Resale equipment, new parts installed in existing equipment, or equipment that is leased, rebuilt, rented, received from insurance claims, received from a warranty or won as a prize do not qualify.

It must be installed in a single-family dwelling, or a multi-family dwelling of three units or less.
